SAN FELIPE FORTRESS Fort San Felipe (also known as El Morro de San Felipe) is in the northern part of the Dominican Republic in the Puerto Plata pronvince. Its special feature is that it is the only building in Puerto Plata, which dates back to colonial times. Its construction, for the purpose of defending the city from pirates or privateers, began by order of King Philip II in 1564 and ended in 1977 under the supervision of Don Regifo Angle, the commander of the Fort. For this reason its location on high ground near the Malecon Puntilla is very strategic, allowing an excellent view of the Atlantic Ocean and protection to the Port. |

Samana The name of the small peninsula of Samana in the Dominican Republic is largely unknown to most people. Even for many of those who have visited this country, the name does not have much meaning. But for those who see it with their own eyes, Samaná has an inexhaustible source of words that describe it: "extraordinary, incredible, majestic, unique, captivating and much, much more." We were lucky to visit the peninsula, and after seeing it, we feel compelled to show the world that beauty exists in its purest and most sophisticated form in this little corner of the Caribbean called Samana. |
