The Hacienda San Lucas is an attractive, yet unique area in the area of Copan Ruinas. It contains coffee plantations, banana and the archeological site "The Toads." This place offers visitors beautiful views of the Copan Valley and the entire archaeological zone. There are several trails for walking, but the most famous and shortest is known as "The Toads" and takes you to the eponymous archaeological site.
After walking through the woods and hearing the birds singing, you arrive at the estate, which also provides a "bed and breakfast" that has also opened a typical Honduran food restaurant. There, we sampled some of the dishes, including tamales, ticucos, tortillas, and a cup of organic coffee grown right on the farm. Since the food is cooked to order for each visitor, reservations are recommended. The best time to sit down for your meal is after 5:00 pm, so you can enjoy a beautiful view of the sunset. Ingredients used in ancient Mayan traditions are used in the restaurant today.
The farm has 8 rooms and all the amenities that travelers could need are included, not withstanding the beautiful nature and ancient traditions kept alive by local people, who are cordial and friendly.
