Joya de Ceren Joya de Ceren is an archaeological site in El Salvador which many refer to as the "Pompeii of America." It is a place for historic and archaeological value and was awarded the title of Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. What are the special features that differentiate this place from other archeological sites in Latin America? Well, Joya de Ceren is a unique example of daily life in pre-Columbian cultures of Central America. Armed with a little imagination you can see how ordinary people lived in those ancient times. |

Ruta de las Flores, El Salvador The tour of "La Ruta de las Flores" rather than a sightseeing tour is a definite cultural experience. Do not expect to find in the five villages that make up this circuit tourism developed tourism highlighted with luxurious accommodations or gourmet restaurants. Leave any pretense of luxury and experience the quiet and peaceful life of small towns west of El Salvador in which even the pedestrians share the road with vehicles and animals without major expectations of dominance. |

We took the opportunity pull over occasionally to look at various sites, some downright beautiful. |
